After the appeals were filed, the Barcelona Court has decided to release former footballer Dani Alves on bail of one million euros pending the final sentence on the Brazilian.

Dani Alves, sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexual assault, will be able to leave prison upon payment of a one million euro bail and surrender of his two passports (Brazilian and Spanish).

Inés Guardiola, the lawyer for Alves, appealed the ruling of the Barcelona Court and requested the release of the convicted individual until a final verdict is reached, a decision that the Barcelona Court has agreed upon.

Prohibition to leave Spain and approach the victim

The Barcelona court has deemed that the risk of Dani Alves fleeing has decreased. In the ruling, the court prohibits the Brazilian from leaving the national territory and requires him to appear at the Provincial Court of Barcelona once a week.

Furthermore, the Barcelona Court prohibits approaching the victim of the sexual assault, her workplace, or places she frequents within 1,000 meters.

A final verdict is yet to be reached, barring Alves from communicating with her through any means until then.
